A dot is the smallest mark of intention. The beginning of an idea, a drawing, a form, and everything we create.
Afidot is an independent design studio based in New Jersey, founded by a UX product designer and an architect with over a decade of experience in design, art, and creative technology.
We create sculptural, functional objects that bring art and thoughtful design into everyday living. Inspired by culture, architecture, and personal experiences, our work blends contemporary forms with meaningful stories.
Our philosophy is simple: Useful enough to use. Beautiful enough to leave out.
The founders
Design brought us together, first as partners in life, then as creative collaborators.
We are Afi and Amir, the founders of Afidot. Afi is a UX product designer and artist with a background in creating both digital products and physical artworks. Amir is an architect and computational designer whose experience spans architecture, advanced fabrication, and research, including NASA’s 3D-printed habitat initiatives.
After years of working across different areas of design, we started Afidot in 2024 as our independent creative practice. A space where we could explore our own ideas, experiment freely, and create objects we genuinely believe in.
We don’t begin with trends or products we think we should make. We begin with curiosity, an idea, or something that inspires us. From there, we explore how to turn it into an object that is both beautiful and functional.

Designed around a feeling
Not every design begins with a problem to solve. Sometimes, it begins with a feeling.
Breeze was inspired by the gentle winds of spring, the movement of hair in the breeze, and the feeling of freedom. Its flowing curves celebrate femininity, movement, and individuality.
We believe the objects we bring into our homes should do more than serve a function. They should create a connection, evoke a feeling, or become part of our everyday memories.
Researched and rooted in history
Our inspiration often comes from art, culture, architecture, and the stories that have shaped us.
The Lotus Vase draws inspiration from ancient Persian art and architectural forms, reinterpreting historical influences through a contemporary sculptural object.
For us, connecting the past with the present is a way to explore new possibilities while honoring the stories that inspire our work.
Refined until it’s right
A beautiful form is only the beginning.
Every design goes through a process of research, sketching, prototyping, testing, and refinement. We experiment with proportions, materials, structure, and functionality until the object feels right.
Sometimes an idea works immediately. More often, it takes several attempts, unexpected challenges, and changes along the way.
We embrace that process because we believe good design comes from curiosity, experimentation, and a willingness to keep improving.
Our objects are thoughtfully developed and produced in small batches in our New Jersey studio.
