It begins with a dot
A dot is the smallest mark of intention, where every drawing starts, where every form takes hold, where every object we make first comes to life.
Afidot, a New York based design studio and fab lab run by a couple. We research, design, and 3D-print objects for your home. To us, design stands before any tool. A 3D printer, a line of code, an AI model, all of them are tools, like a pencil.
What sets our work apart is never the technology, but the idea it serves, and how that technology lets us execute it better: shaping a curve that simply wasn’t possible to bring to life before this era of tools.
The founders
Design brought us together, first as partners in life, then in work.
Afi and Amir founded Afidot in 2024. Afi is a UX and product designer and artist who creates user-friendly products that make everyday life a little better. Amir is an architect and computational designer whose work has ranged from high-rise towers in Manhattan to NASA research on 3D-printed habitats designed for future missions to Mars. Together, they bring every Afidot piece to life — combining design, technology, art, and a love for meaningful objects.

Designed around a feeling
Every piece begins with something we want you to feel, and only then becomes a form. Breeze began with a spring morning, a breeze moving through your hair and each of its lines was shaped to echo that movement. And every one of those lines, like every curve in everything we make, starts from a single dot.
Researched, and rooted in history
Each of our designs begins in our own research. The Lotus vase draws its form from ancient Persia, a story three thousand years old, brought into a piece you can hold today.
Refined until it’s right
A finished sketch is only the beginning. We model it, print it, and test it and when it fails, we go back. The Lotus vase looked right on screen, but the first prints leaked; we returned to the model, reworked it, and printed again until it held water and held its form. Every piece earns its place this way, often more than ten rounds of modeling, printing, and testing before it is ever offered to you.
We believe everyone deserves to know the value of good design and to live with it.
